ASPECT An Art Experience Aspect, Destiney’s’ first solo show, is a soul baring depiction of the phases of life. Leaving the audience to perceive the art through their own eyes, Destiney provided no detailed description for each installation, only a name.
Practicing with various mediums, sizes, shapes and leaving open for viewer self-interpretation, Destiney brought to surface that we are all constantly flowing in and out of change.
During the show, attendees were able to introspect and recognize which phase they found themselves in at that point and time. Awareness of where we are, helps us better navigate to where we want to be.
Wholesome
This phase represents our purity. The infinite and limitless connection to the source of all creation. The innocence we come into this world with and will return to.
Jaded
Situations that made you create a barrier between you and your reality. The instances when you were scared, unsafe, uncomfortable. In return, they changed you…. you needed to protect yourself.
Healing
Healing is many things. It can be hard, lonely, uneasy… to reflect on situations that brought you discomfort is never easy.
~Healing is not a destination, but a journey.
~Colors have the power to invoke different emotions and aid in times of need,
~Think of the bolder as the lump in your throat, the heaviness in your chest, the twisting feeling in your gut.
~The get well cards are me giving you the hug, through words.
Delicate
When unmasking it can cause us to feel vulnerable.. which in leu makes us delicate. You ever heard the phrase “give yourself grace?” That’s this phrase in physical form. Treat yourself like a flower, flowing through the wind, Ebb and flow.
Fact-This mask is made with over 600 Swarovski crystals.
VIBRANT
Being present enough to smell the flowers. To acknowledge how far you have came. KNOW and FEEL the love you have in your self/life. This is not the finish line but a coming back to yourself.
